Welcome to the Vibe: A Home for Deadheads Everywhere

“Once in a while, you get shown the light…”

Our Journey: A Deadhead Sisters Timeline

June 2024 - The Beginning

  • The Deadhead Sisters community is founded with a simple goal: to connect and share a love for the music. Initial members are primarily from the Salt Lake City area.

Late 2024

  • The community begins to blossom. What started as online connections quickly leads to the first in-person get-togethers, hikes, and local meetups.

Early 2025

  • The first invitations to participate in special events are received, including celebrations and memorials, which solidify the community's mission of support.

  • Word of the community spreads beyond Utah. Sisters (and brothers) from other states and even other countries begin to join the group.

  • The community's purpose expands naturally to include shared adventures and dancing around the globe.

Mid-2025

  • Recognizing the community's growth, the name is officially updated to Deadhead Sisters to reflect its wider, global reach.

Late 2025 - Full Steam Ahead

  • What a long, strange trips it’s been welcoming new members and planning for future events. The focus is on sustaining the peace and love ethos that started it all.

Shakedown Street

Just gotta poke around

The Heartbeat of a Street

Don't tell me this town ain't got no heart, when I can hear it beat out loud.

The song is a call to listen for the "heartbeat" in places, or in music, that might seem soulless on the surface. It's about recognizing that our own perceptions can be as much to blame as the world when we only see darkness. In this way, it’s a more forceful companion to "Eyes of the World," which also asks us to wake up and see things differently. "Shakedown Street" isn't a gentle suggestion; it's an admonishment to look past the surface and find the life in unexpected places.

Meet the Team

We would not be here without Katie Kennedy.

Katie's search for like-minded women to support local, live music in June 2024 sparked something incredible. It blossomed into the Deadhead Sisters of Salt Lake City, a community we are all fortunate to be a part of.

As the heart and moderator of our Facebook group, Katie radiates warmth and is so valued for bringing us all together.
