About This Community
Empowered Women Empower Women
Bringing together our community to support, build, and sustain women’s empowerment, all while celebrating our shared love for the Grateful Dead. (But of course, newcomers are always welcome!)
The Deadhead movement, which began in the late 1960's, remains one of the most dedicated and influential fan cultures in music history. With Tye-dye shirts, road trips following the band and an emphasis on peace, love and community, Deadheads have created a lasting legacy that extends beyond music. From vinyl collectors to festival-goers, the culture surrounding the Grateful Dead is as vibrant today as it was in the band's heyday. Whether through classic albums, live recordings or ongoing tributes, the Grateful Dead's music continues to inspire and unite people across the world AND right here in our little community.

Just gotta poke around
The phrase "Strangers Stopping Strangers, just to shake their hand" originates from the lyrics of Scarlet Begonias, a song by the Grateful Dead from their 1974 album from the Mars Hotel. This line captures the essence of the Deadhead community- an ever-growing network of fans who share a deep appreciation for the bands music, ethos, annd free spirit culture. The Grateful Dead, formed in 1965 in San Francisco, became pioneers for the psychedelic rock movement, blending folks, blues and improvisational jam sessions into a unique sound that defined an era NOW 60 YEARS. Their Concerts were legendary, known for the unpredictability and the deep connection between the band and its audience.
